How: Full pitch but after you release the ball drive your leg up to your chest towards the target. Simultaneously push yourself backwards with your front foot.
Tips: Lean back by the time you get to 12 o’clock so you can put yourself in the correct position to resist. As soon as your stride foot lands you should be resisting.
Erica Drill
Learn the close hips quickly.
How: Start with half of a stride and do not do a pre-motion (take-away). This is a quick-stride.
Tips; Close your hips (banana) EXPLOSIVELY & IMMEDIATELY upon landing your stride foot.
Roeser Drill
Learn resistance
How: Full pitch but keep your drive (banana) foot stuck on the mound. Close hips quickly.
Tips: Finish with your weight on your back foot, head centered to show that you can resist.
